Miss Mary was always looking up. A woman of deep faith, she kept the word in her life and made sure I heard as much of it as she could get in.
This photo speaks to me. On her last trip home to her homeland, the last trip she would make to see, love, and make peace with her baby sister, niece, and nephew there.
I believe this is my mother Mary, cripped by the cancer within her yet still smiling, looking up and saying to the Lord, Father, I am coming home.
To her husband, my father, “Freddy been long enough, I come to see you now.’
