We lost yesterday to steady rain all day. Two days left in the Southern Jersey Woodcock season, and we are still finding birds. What a glorious year it has been!

When Romeo says Mr Woodcock is there, he’s there. What I thought was going to be a tough shot turned out to be an easy one. My @uplandguncompany Venus 28 swung clean and found its mark. The bird chose the open route, flying into a 20+ mph headwind rather than the reverse break through the cover I had expected.

I’ll take it! A gift at the end of the season.
